Chembe Eagles Nest Resort is located in Cape Maclear. The lodge is cozy and in a tranquil setting away from the hustles and bustles of the village life, boosting a private beach. The quiet and idyllic chalets all face all face the Lake Malawi under a sheltered thatched patio with a pair of easy chairs to watch the exquisite sunsets. Chembe has six double beds and five twin beds chalets and are all en-suite with air conditioning.

Activities include both motorized and non-motorized water sports, island trips, scuba diving, sailing on a 26-foot catamaran, snorkelling and Chembe village tours. The resort is ideal for family holidays.

Accommodation

Chembe Eagles Nest has 11 chalets feature six with double beds and five with twin beds. They are all en-suite with air conditioning. If you are more inclined to outdoor living, the adjoining campsite with spectacular views of the hills and lake suit you best.

Campers have their own wash-up area, braai facilities and beautifully pristine ablutions with ample privacy from the rest of the lodge. Dinner, bed and breakfast includes a three-course dinner, accommodation in luxury chalets and breakfast.

All chalets are lake facing with a patio to watch the beautiful sunset from your patio. The chalets are all en-suite, sure to leave you well rested for the day ahead. Mosquito nets and ceiling fans come standard in all rooms.

Should you wish to have a more "laid back" dinner, speak to us about a barbeque or a traditional South African "potjie." The outside "braai" area, built into the rock face, is always popular with guests.

Lunches can also be organized on Domwe Island during your snorkeling trips. All our meals are prepared from the beginning with fresh ingredients and exotic flavors, which are purely African, ensuring that every meal is a culinary delight for the senses.

Swimming Pool

Chembe has a good-sized swimming pool. The pool sist at the view of the rooms and the beach where people sit and chat or read, and then it gently gets deeper.

There are plenty of sun-loungers, and there is covered seating if you want a break from the sun. You will love this area for morning writing with coffee in a shady.

Best Time to Visit

Cape Maclear is an all-year-round destination. Visiting Lake Malawi, particularly for viewing fish underwater in the southern section, is best between May and October. The weather gets progressively warmer going from moderate to hot by November.

Hot and Dry seasons runs from September to the middle of November, getting warmer as the season progresses. This is the most popular time around the lake as the water is at its most serene and clarity is high.
