Located on a large open plain stretching towards the Shire River in Liwonde National Park, you will find Kuthengo Camp nestled among the Fever trees and Baobabs. The Camp is comprised of four spacious and modern safari tents all en-suite, each with a bathtub and an outdoor shower. At the Camp there are resident fish eagles nesting in Baobabs, you will be awaken to ‘Africa’s voice’ calling as you rise in this wild and natural paradise. Its tranquility and privacy make it an excellent location for your holidays.

Kuthengo Camp has four spacious, modern safari tents, each with en-suite facilities including a bathtub and outdoor shower.

The tents have eco-friendly Evening Breeze air conditioning-a state-of-the-art cooling system designed to keep the bed area of the tent within the mosquito netting at a comfortable temperature with minimal impact on the environment. True to the renowned standards of a Robin Pope Safari camp, Kuthengo blends rustic charm with modern comforts.

Relax on the private decks with stunning views while enjoying the refreshing sundowner as herds of waterbuck often wander at the camp's grounds now bathed in golden and warm evening light.

Morning and evening game drives

Led by experienced and knowledgeable safari guides, enjoy the morning and afternoon game drive that extends to sundowner and evening drive, allows you to experience the wonders and the magic of Liwonde National Park.

Enjoy the drives as you observe a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, and rhinos in their natural habitat.

Walking Safaris

Guided walks provide a more intimate experience, allowing guests to learn about the flora and fauna up close. While on a walking safari, your guides will be extremely vigilant about established safety procedures.

The chance of encountering dangerous animals (which will be given a wide berth) is far less than during a game drive.

Kuthengo Camp in Liwonde National Park is open from March to January. Please check with us on the exact dates.

The best time to visit Kuthengo Camp in Liwonde National Park is during the dry season, from April to November. This period offers optimal conditions for spotting wildlife, as animals are more concentrated around water sources due to the sparse vegetation. The Park also experiences less humidity and is generally a more comfortable time to be outdoors,
